Course Description

Today’s class is entitled "Music Copyrighting," presented by independent artist and entrepreneur: Faith Roberts.  After telling us a little bit about herself, Faith will introduce us to the process of copywriting music and will break down terms such as intellectual property and music licensing.

Faith Roberts

Faith Roberts is an artist and entrepreneur from Washington, D.C. She is the owner of a small business: "Team Dutch, LLC." Through this business, she has released her own music and merchandising for her solo career under the title of "Dutchie Dutch." Faith has a Bachelor of Arts from Trinity Washington University and recently earned her Juris Doctorate from the University of the District of Columbia’s David A. Clarke School of Law. She hopes to harness her legal education and experience in entertainment to help other artists in the District register and publish their intellectual property, navigate and negotiate contracts, and create business opportunities in music and entertainment.
